  • Literacy-Neutral Design: Prioritized visual-first storytelling to ensure life-saving information is accessible to all populations, regardless of literacy level.

COMMUNITY-CENTERED NARRATIVE DESIGN

Bridging Cultural Context with Modern Medical Practices

The Objective: To create a high-fidelity visual world that mirrors the daily lives and cultural realities of the target audience, thereby reducing barriers to adopting new health and nutrition behaviors.

Core Strategies:

  • Social & Behavior Change Communication (SBCC): Employed sequential art to model positive health outcomes and navigate sensitive community discussions regarding nutrition and pediatric care.
  • Intergenerational Dialogue: Designed narratives that include community elders and parents, recognizing the role of family influence in healthcare decision-making.
  • Technical Visual Guidance: Integrated accurate depictions of health screenings—such as pediatric monitoring and nutritional assessments—to demystify clinical visits for rural populations.

Results: Produced a highly adaptable "Visual Toolkit" that allows field workers to facilitate complex health discussions using relatable, non-intimidating imagery.

The Objective: To create a visual framework that supports local governance and agricultural cooperatives, making the benefits of collective action and sustainable farming visible and intuitive.

Core Strategies:

  • Inclusive Dialogue: Portrayed diverse community groups (men, women, and elders) engaged in collaborative decision-making to model inclusive local leadership.
  • Agricultural Innovation: Illustrated the practical application of climate-smart farming and modern irrigation, translating technical training into relatable community success stories.
  • Micro-Finance & Cooperative Growth: Developed narrative scenes that explain the impact of community savings and micro-loan programs on local development.

Strategic Impact: These visuals serve as the primary educational tool for field officers to spark community discussion, leading to higher adoption rates of cooperative-based economic models.

This selection featuring concept art, environment design, character illustration, and narrative-driven visual storytelling. The work explores stylised worlds inspired by culture, mythology, and speculative futures.

CAMPAIGN SYSTEMS & DESIGN ARCHITECTURE

Standardizing Visual Communications for Scale

The Methodology: To ensure campaign longevity and recognition, I developed a centralized Design System for the WFP Public Health initiative. This allowed for the rapid assembly of new educational materials while maintaining 100% brand consistency.

Key System Components:

  • Standardized Iconography: Developed a library of universal symbols for hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and medical checkups to facilitate instant comprehension.
  • Modular Asset Library: Created reusable character and environment assets, allowing for the quick production of new digital carousels or print posters.
  • Integrated Branding: Blended WFP organizational identity with campaign-specific visual storytelling to create a cohesive, professional "Voice."
  • Strategic Color Coding: Applied color systems to categorize different health topics (e.g., green for nutrition, blue for hygiene), improving information retention for the target audience.

Production Value: This systemic approach reduced production time for new assets by 40% while ensuring all materials met international donor standards.

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION PIPELINE

Ensuring Continuity & Scalability in Strategic Campaigns

The Strategy: For the WFP campaign, I established a rigorous technical production pipeline. This involved creating standardized character model sheets and asset libraries that allow for rapid content generation without sacrificing quality or brand integrity.

Core Technical Deliverables:

  • Standardized Turnarounds: Developed multi-angle reference sheets (Front, Profile, 3/4 View) to maintain character consistency across digital and print media.
  • Expression & Gesture Libraries: Architected a comprehensive suite of facial expressions and body language assets specifically designed to trigger positive behavioral responses (SBCC).
  • Modular Asset Integration: Designed character components to be easily integrated into various layout templates, reducing turnaround time for social media carousels and field toolkits.
  • Quality Control: Applied strict technical standards to all visual assets, ensuring they remain high-fidelity when scaled for large-format print or compressed for mobile messaging.

LOCALIZED ENVIRONMENT ARCHITECTURE

Designing Authentic Contexts for Public Engagement

The Strategy: To maximize the impact of the WFP health narratives, I developed a comprehensive library of localized environments. These settings ensure that the target audience sees their own reality reflected with dignity and accuracy.

Core Design Elements:

  • Localized Research: Integrated specific architectural and cultural details to create familiar domestic and marketplace settings.
  • Atmospheric Storytelling: Used advanced lighting and color theory to evoke specific moods—from the warmth of a healthy home to the professional clarity of a clinic.
  • Background Behavioral Cues: Subtly integrated health-positive imagery within the environment (e.g., clean water access, diverse crops) to provide continuous visual reinforcement.
  • Cross-Platform Versatility: Designed these high-resolution backgrounds to be repurposed across print posters, digital carousels, and animation backgrounds.

STRATEGIC VISUAL DEPLOYMENT

MULTI-PLATFORM CONTENT DELIVERY

WFP Strategic Field Brochure

Contextual Localization & Socio-Historical Visual Alignment

  • Project Insight: This brochure design integrates localized, historical context into its visual strategy. Character design and attire were meticulously updated from initial prototypes to align with Haiti’s specific cultural heritage (incorporating European-style trousers, collared shirts, and skirts). This choice ensures the visual language is culturally resonant and familiar, avoiding generic archetypes and significantly enhancing message credibility for local communities. The illustrations serve as part of a modular visual system designed to address specific humanitarian challenges through distinct, culturally-accurate personas.
